Looking for a GP in Cabra or Dublin 7?

If you live in Cabra, Phibsborough, Navan Road, Glasnevin or the wider Dublin 7 area and you need a local GP, Clarius Health — Cabra Medical Centre is welcoming new patients. Based at 109 Cabra Road, the long-established Cabra Medical Centre now operates as part of the Clarius Health group, caring for medical card (GMS) patients, Doctor Visit Card holders and private patients.

This guide explains who can register, what you’ll need, and how to get started.

Where we are

Clarius Health — Cabra Medical Centre is at 109 Cabra Road, Dublin 7, a familiar local practice address that’s easily reached from Cabra, Phibsborough, the Navan Road and Glasnevin. We’re part of the Clarius Health group, which also runs GP clinics on Camden Street (Dublin 2) and Kildare Road in Crumlin (Dublin 12).

Can I register if I have a medical card?

Yes. If you hold a medical card (the GMS scheme), you can choose Cabra Medical Centre as your GP and your consultations are covered by the HSE — there’s no charge to see your doctor, and prescriptions are covered under the medical card scheme. To register, you simply nominate us as your GP and we complete the paperwork with you.

If you live locally and would like to move your medical card registration to Cabra Medical Centre, we can help you through the process — you don’t need to contact your previous practice yourself.

What about a Doctor Visit Card (DVC)?

A Doctor Visit Card covers your GP consultation costs, so you won’t pay to see the doctor (though it doesn’t cover prescriptions the way a full medical card does). Children under 8 and adults over 70 are covered automatically, and many others qualify on income grounds. DVC holders are welcome to register with Cabra Medical Centre.
